Under the leadership of Mayor Sandy Stimpson, City of Mobile employees received ratification Tuesday from the Mobile City Council to move forward with several Public Works projects.
“With these improvements, our citizens will continue to enjoy an enhanced quality of life in the City of Mobile,” Mayor Stimpson said.
Projects approved Tuesday include:
- C. Thornton, Inc. was awarded a $977,555 contract to conduct bridge inspection, maintenance, and repairs. This project will be managed by the City Engineering Department.
- Geotechnical Engineering Testing, Inc. was awarded a $76,000 contract to provide professional and technical services for the city-wide resurfacing program, including the conversion of St. Joseph Street to a two-way street. This project will be managed by the City Engineering Department.
- Mobile Asphalt Company, LLC. was awarded a $5.1 million contract to conduct city-wide street repairs and repaving as a part of the 2020 Capital Improvement Program. This project will be managed by the City Engineering Department.
