Falcons Stumble in 79-66 Loss to Miles College

MONTEVALLO – The Montevallo men’s basketball team struggled to get the offense going in a 79-66 loss to Miles College in a pre-Thanksgiving game on Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons fell to 1-5 with their third straight loss, while the Golden Bears improved to 4-0.

The loss tarnished a solid effort by Aaris Monte-Bonds who lead the Falcons with 22 points and eight rebounds. Vinnie Viana added 11 points, while Jason King and Braxton Bertolette tallied 11 points each.

As a team, the Falcons hit only 38.9% from the floor for the game, including a miserable 10% (1-for-10) from 3-point range. Meanwhile, Miles shot nearly 57% from the field, including nine 3-pointers.

The Falcons will try to take a brief break for the holdiay before returning to action on Sunday afternoon, hosting Middle Georgia State. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Trustmark Arena.
