Alabama A&M’s Johnson Named SWAC Player of the Week After Career High 30 Points

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama A&M junior forward Jalen Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.) has earned Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league on Wednesday, November 24.
 
Johnson was outstanding during  last week’s competition, averaging 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 14-of-30 from the field over two games.

He opened the week strong against 2021 American Athletic Conference (AAC) semifinalist Cincinnati (11/16) leading all scorers with a career high 30 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the field and went 8-of-9 at the foul line while hauling in seven boards.

He would cap the week with a solid performance against Alabama-Birmingham, just missing a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds.

Johnson and the Bulldogs will next take to the court on Wednesday, December 8 as they face off against North Alabama. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. in Florence, Alabama.
