MALIBU, Calif. – The UAB women’s basketball team concludes its California road trip with Pepperdine on Nov. 24. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. (CST)/2 p.m. (PST).
UAB (3-1) fell to San Diego State on Monday afternoon 55-51. Zakyia Weathersby led the Blazers with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. She is only of only four players in D-I to average a double-double. Weathersby is second in C-USA with 18.0 ppg and first in with 12.8 rpg and 3.0 bpg.
Pepperdine (1-2) is coming off a 74-63 loss against UC Santa Barbara. Ally Stedman leads the Waves in scoring at 14.3 ppg, which is fifth in the West Coast Conference. Becky Obinma is third in the WCC with 8.7 rpg.
UAB AND PEPPERDINE HISTORY
In their only meeting, the teams played in Chicago in the Coopers & Lybrand Invitational. The Waves were 69-64 winners.
UAB VS. WEST COAST CONFERENCE
UAB has played three games against teams currently in the West Coast Conference. The Blazers have defeated San Diego while falling to Saint Mary’s and Pepperdine.
