HUNTSVILLE | The Gulf South Conference has announced their weekly award winners, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville’s Dane Harding has been selected as the GSC Men’s Basketball Freshman of the Week.

This is UAH’s first honoree of the season, and Harding is the first Freshman of the Week recipient for the Chargers since Luke Burnett won the award on Jan. 5 of last season.

In UAH’s win over Columbus State on Saturday, the Albertville, Alabama, native added five rebounds and a bucket.

Through UAH’s seven games, Harding is averaging 15.1 minutes in a key reserve role, and he is scoring 3.4 points per contest while collecting 3.3 rebounds per game.

Harding and his teammates will be in action once again on Wednesday night when they continue their busy stretch of four games in five days when they take on Oakwood.

Tip-off at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall is scheduled for 7 p.m.
