Jackson, Miss – The Birmingham-Southern women’s basketball team competed in the first game of the Millsaps Tournament. The Panthers competed against Mississippi University for Women defeating them 107-105. Brooke Westhoelter had a stellar performance leading the Panthers in points and rebounds.
BSC battled it out against the Owls in the first quarter leading the game 19-16 with a buzzer beater three from Anna Smith. The Owls answered back against the Panthers going into halftime with a score of 43-38. Both teams battled it out in the third quarter putting up more than 30 points each. The Panthers got the job done in the fourth quarter outscoring the Owls 35-27.
Brooke Westhoelter recorded 31 points shooting 16-17 from the free-throw line adding on six rebounds for the Panthers. Cassady Quintana scored 19 points and recorded five rebounds. Mckenna Buckner was dominate on both sides of the court recording 18 points, four steals, and five rebounds.
