Chargers Steady at No. 6 in Updated South Region Rankings

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team remained at No. 6 in this week’s updated NCAA South Region rankings ahead of the 2021 Gulf South Conference Championships this weekend.
West Florida stays atop the rankings, followed by Sunshine State Conference members Tampa in second, Embry-Riddle in third, Nova Southeastern in fourth, and Lynn in fifth. UAH remained in sixth for the second straight week with Palm Beach Atlantic and Florida Southern rounding out the poll in seventh and eighth, respectively.
The Chargers finished the regular season with a 21-8 overall record that included a 13-3 mark in GSC matches, as the squad has earned a bye to the conference tournament semifinals on Saturday as the No. 2 seed. UAH will play at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.
UAH has been selected to compete in an NCAA regional tournament six times in program history, with the last appearance coming in 2019 as the seventh seed.
