Samford Women’s Basketball Signs Marchbanks

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford University head women’s basketball coach Carley Kuhns announced the signing of Masyn Marchbanks, a 5-foot-8 guard from Hartselle High School in Hartselle, Ala., to a National Letter of Intent on Monday, Nov. 15. The lightning quick guard will be the only signee for the Bulldogs this year.

We are so excited to add Masyn to our roster next year,” Kuhns said. “Her personality off the court is as dynamic as her game on the court. Samford fans are going to love watching Masyn play!”

A standout on the court since the eighth grade, Marchbanks averaged 18.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and four steals per game to lead Hartselle to a 25-3 record and a trip to the AHSAA Class 6A Northwest Region finals.

The 5-foot-8 guard was named Class 6A first team All-State by the Alabama Sports Writers Association at the conclusion of the season.

She is currently averaging 18.5 points per game for HHS in her senior season.

Marchbanks chose Samford over offers from 18 other institutions.
