Alabama A&M Women’s Basketball Heads to Nebraska In Homecoming For Bulldogs

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – In what will be a homecoming on several levels, Alabama A&M (0-2, 0-0 SWAC) women’s basketball will head to Big Ten member Nebraska (2-0, 0-0 Big Ten) for just the second time in program history on Sunday, November 14. Game time is slated for 2 p.m. at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska.

With the trip to the Cornhusker state comes a return home for three members of the Bulldogs, beginning with head coach Margaret Richards, who played at Nebraska from 1999-2003. Additionally, graduate guard Nigeria Jones (Lincoln, Neb.) and senior forward Dariauna Lewis (Omaha, Neb.) come back to their home state for the second time as members of Alabama A&M.

Both played in the only other meeting between the two teams, that being a 68-46 Nebraska win on November 6, 2019. In that game, Jones went for 16 points and six rebounds in 35 minutes and Lewis just missed a double-double with eight points and nine caroms.

A&M comes into the day having dropped a 73-52 decision to a strong Dayton team on November 9 and fell 73-60 at Cincinnati a day later. The Cornhuskers, meanwhile, are coming off of a pair of impressive victories, beginning with a 108-50 win over Maine on November 9. They would add a 102-47 decision two days later over Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) member Prairie View.

Fans will be able to follow all of the action with live stats and live video for the game with the latter coming behind a paywall on Big Ten+. Full coverage of all the action will be available on www.AAMUSports.com, the official online home of Alabama A&M Athletics, following the final horn.
