A look at the Birmingham-Southern Panthers
Birmingham-Southern comes off a gut wrenching 28-27 loss to Trinity (Texas) last Saturday, their first loss of the season. With a sour taste in their mouth the Panthers are ready to get back in the win column. BSC did stay in both the  and AFCA top 25 polls, ranking No. 22 and No. 23 respectively.
Trey Patterson, Robert Shufford and the offense continue to make you respect the run, which ultimately opens the passing game. Against Trinity, and for the seventh time this year, the Panthers rushed for at least three touchdowns in a game. They also put up 327 yards against a defense that was only allowing 176.5 yards per game.
Birmingham-Southern’s defense continues to shine as they held Trinity to their second lowest points scored this season and their lowest yards gained on the season. The Panthers are led by a solid line backing core in Court Coley, Cameron DeArman and Connor West who all have 40+ tackles on the season.
The secondary is also full of lockdown defenders. Wes Guilford, DJ Albright, and Jimmy Anderson have combined for 16 pass break ups two interceptions, with one being a pick six.
A look at the Millsaps Majors
The Majors will come into the game 2-7 on the season and 2-4 in the SAA. Their two wins have come against Rhodes and Sewanee.
Millsaps is averaging 26.88 points per game and 370.4 yards per game. The Majors are led by junior, quarterback, Kaleb Thompson who has thrown for 1,232 yards and 11 touchdowns. On the receiving end the Panthers will have to stop junior, wide receiver Moise Tezzo. Tezzo has caught 36 passes for 670 yards and seven touchdowns.
On the defensive side of the ball the Majors are led by defensive back Cade Broussard and inside linebacker Josh Smith. The two have combined for 101 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. With good players at all three levels of the defense the Majors will look to cause havoc for BSC.
Other BSC Panther notes
> Robert Shufford has recorded a touchdown in every game so far this season.
> The Panthers rank second in the conference in sacks with 25.
> The Panthers rank first in the conference in rushing yards with 2,596.

Following the game the Panthers will await to see if they get a Pool C (at-large) bid to the NCAA Division III National Football Tournament. Birmingham-Southern also has a chance at hosting a first round game which would be at General Krulak Stadium on Nov. 20. Kickoff would be scheduled at 12:00 p.m.
