In the opening set, Talladega took advantage of a setting error by Blue Mountain to tie the match at two before going on a 10-5 run to go up, 12-7.  The Toppers applied pressure as it chipped away to come within four points to trail, 18-14, but the Tornadoes were able to close out the set on a 7-5 run and take a 1-0 lead in the match.

The Tornadoes used their momentum from the first set to go up 14-7 in the second, but the Toppers put together a 9-2 run to tie the set at 16. Back-to-back kills by Blue Mountain put them in front, 18-16. Talladega kept the set close but it wasn’t enough as the Toppers took advantage of a pair of attack errors to claim a 25-22 victory to tie the match, 1-1.

With the set tied at four, Blue Mountain went on a 12-2 run as it went on to win set three, 25-17. Talladega attempted to climb its way back into the set, but the Toppers early lead was too much for the Tornadoes to overcome.

The deciding set saw the Toppers jump out to an early 5-1 lead, but this time Talladega used an 8-3 run to reclaim a 9-8 lead.  For most of the set, both teams went back-and-forth with neither team able to break it open. With the teams locked in at 12-12, Blue Mountain used a 12-5 run to break it open and go up, 24-17. The Tornadoes took advantage of four attack errors by the Toppers while using a kill and ace of their own to make it a one-point game (24-23). Blue Mountain claimed the final point to close out the set and match, 25-23.
