Women’s Soccer Takes on Alabama Huntsville Thursday at Charger Park

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama women’s soccer team heads to Huntsville to battle Alabama Huntsville Thursday, Nov. 5  in a Gulf South Conference matchup at Charger Park. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. 

The Tigers head into the weekend with a 8-5-2 overall record and are 6-4-1 in GSC play. The Chargers are 6-7-2 overall and 4-6-1 in the conference.

Forward Dana Cruz is leading UWA’s offense with seven goals and one assist for 15 points. The Fort Walton Beach, Florida native has taken 15 shots with 12 of those being on target. 

Midfielder Anele Komani has scored five goals for the Tigers and passed one assist for a total of 11 points. The London, England native has taken 38 shots, 18 of them being on target. 

Kaylah Butterworth is leading the team and the GSC in assists. The Mary Esther, Florida native has passed 10 assists and scored one goal for a total of 11 points. 

Between the posts for the Tigers is Tabitha Weldon (7-5-2). The Orange Park, Florida native has recorded 51 saves and has kept seven clean sheets in her 14 matches played.

According to uahchargers.com, masks are not required but fans are encouraged to practice social distancing, utilizing the significant amount of outdoor space including in bleaching seating and in other areas where lawn chairs and blankets are permitted at Charger Park.
