Weekend Preview

UAB is looking to end the regular season on a high note after a tough stretch of games against North Texas, UTEP, and Rice. The Blazers are currently hitting .217 percent, and have recorded 1036 kills on the year. Fernanda Maida has 354 kills, and Alex Kells has 281. Tatijana Fucka has 46 blocks, and Lidya Canturk has 28 service aces. Six Blazers have set or tied career highs in kills this season. “We have a great opportunity in front of us to round out our CUSA regular season at Louisiana Tech.” Said Coach Betsy Freeburg. “With the NCAA Day of Civic Engagement this week, we took advantage of some additional time outside of the gym and came back mentally and physically refreshed. We have really worked hard on our offense and creating additional ways to score points in different positions when we were in the gym. Everyone wants to be playing their best at the end of the season, and if our practices have been any reflection of that, we are ready for the challenge ahead.”
