Badgers close 2021 with 4-0 loss to West Florida

MOBILE, Ala. (November 4, 2021) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women’s soccer team closed out the 2021 season with a 4-0 Gulf South Conference (GSC) loss to the University of West Florida (UWF) Argonauts on Thursday afternoon at Library Field.

The Argonauts (11-2-2; 7-2-2 GSC) benefited from a Badger own-goal in the 10th minute of the first half and then added goals in the 59th, 68th, and 79th minutes by Chase McGirt, Kileigh Whited, and Haley Fayard, respectively.

Badger starting keeper Anna Brunner (0-13) made seven saves against 19 nine shots and 11 corner kicks while Charline Favier (6-1-1) of UWF faced one shot and one corner with no saves in 73 minutes before being relieved by Mackenzie Mantague for the final 17 minutes.

The Badgers finished the season with a 0-17 record including 0-13 in the GSC. UWF will play in the first round of the 2021 GSC Championship Tournament on Sunday at a time, location, and opponent yet to be determined.
