Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth released the following statement upon learning that State Rep. Connie Rowe (R – Jasper) was included among the 2019 “Women of Impact” by Yellowhammer Multimedia:

“I first came to know Connie Rowe when we served together in the Alabama House, and it has been my honor to bear firsthand witness to her effectiveness as a lawmaker, a public servant, and as an example of God’s grace.

Connie dedicated her life to positively impacting Alabama long before this well-deserved honor was given. She served as the first female police chief of the City of Jasper, where she led the efforts to combat crime, protect the public, and uphold the law, and she worked as a tireless advocate for victims of crime as an investigator for the Walker County District Attorney’s Office.

During her service in the Alabama House, Connie has passed landmark legislation that makes it easier for military veterans to gain employment, and she has risen in the ranks to serve as vice chair of both the House Republican Caucus and the powerful, agenda-setting House Rules Committee.

I am proud to know Connie Rowe and am humbled to be her friend because she truly personifies the words in Matthew 5:16, which reads, ‘…let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.’”
