Gamecocks Announce 2022 Softball Schedule

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State softball team will host 21 games at University Field in 2022, including a home opener against Auburn and an ASUN Conference slate.
The Gamecocks and head coach Jana McGinnis, who enters her 29th season at the helm of the softball program, released the schedule on Wednesday. JSU will play in five non-conference tournaments, including hosting Samford and Austin Peay in the JSU Invite before conference play begins.
The nonconference portion of the schedule also includes the Feb. 23 home opener against Auburn, as well as a return trip to the Tigers on April 19. The Gamecocks will also face Alabama in the Sand Mountain Showdown to christen the Sand Mountain Park in Albertville, Ala., on March 30.
The season will open in ULM’s Tournament in Monroe, La., on Feb. 11 and then continue in a tournament at Southern Miss before the Tigers visit University Field. The Gamecocks will then travel to tournaments hosted by Georgia Tech and Mississippi State before the JSU Invite is held on March 11-12. Other nonconference home games are scheduled with ULM, Colgate and Dartmouth.
The Gamecocks’ return to the ASUN Conference will begin on March 19-20, when they travel to Kennesaw State in the first of eight three-game conference series. They also visit Florida Gulf Coast, Lipscomb and Central Arkansas, while North Florida, Eastern Kentucky, North Alabama and Bellarmine will all travel to JSU for their series.
The ASUN Championship will be held at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., from May 11-14.
Season tickets and single-game ticket information for the Gamecocks’ home dates will be available at a later date.
