JSU Baseball Announces 2022 Schedule

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State baseball program and head coach Jim Case have officially announced the Gamecocks’ schedule for the upcoming 2022 season.

The new year features 31 home games on Rudy Abbott Field at Jim Case Stadium as part of the 56-game slate for JSU. Highlighting the schedule will be the season-opening weekend series with Kentucky visiting Jacksonville along with home-and-home dates with Auburn and Alabama. JSU will face off against four teams that played in the 2021 NCAA Baseball Tournament – Alabama, Southern Mississippi, South Alabama and Samford.

 Jax State will play 10 of its first 14 games on its home turf. The season will get started with the series against UK on February 18-20. The Gamecocks’ first road trip of the season will be a visit to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama on February 22.  The Crimson Tide will return the visit on May 10 at Rudy Abbott Field at Jim Case Stadium. JSU’s first weekend series on the road will be in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on February 25-27 against the Golden Eagles of USM.

JSU’s midweek contests will be the annual in-state match ups with Troy, Samford, Alabama State and UAB on the road and at home. Jax State will also have a home-and-home set with Mercer during the midweek. The Gamecocks will host Siena in a three-game series to open the month of March, followed by a three-game set with the Jaguars of USA the weekend prior to conference play starts.

The Gamecocks’ return to the ASUN in 2022 will feature home-and-home three-game series with each team in the ASUN West Division. The first weekend of the league has JSU traveling to Nashville, Tennessee to face Lipscomb. Jax State’s first ASUN home weekend will be against North Alabama March (25-27). Jax State’s home weekends in April will be against Eastern Kentucky on April 1-3, hosting Bellarmine on Easter weekend (April 14-16) and Lipscomb the following weekend (April 22-24). JSU’s lone weekend at home in May will be against Central Arkansas on May 13-15.

The 2022 ASUN Baseball Championship will be hosted by Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers, Fla. On May 25-28.

Season ticket packages will be announced at a later date.
