ATLANTA, Ga. – In their last game of the Emory National Invite, the Birmingham-Southern volleyball team swept Randolph-Macon 3-0. Emily Buhl and Kennedy Dickens lead the team in kills and hitting percentage, each getting 11 kills and hitting .579 and .611 respectively. 
The Panthers pulled an early lead in the first set at 11-4 over the Yellowjackets. Birmingham-Southern pushed that lead to an even more impressive 20-11. A kill from Emily Buhl, followed by one from Kennedy Dickens and an error by the Yellowjackets put the Panthers up 23-13. Ansleigh Dailey had a kill that brought it to set point and Leah Nielsen finished it off with a kill, Birmingham-Southern taking the first set 25-14. 
Once again the Panthers jumped to an early lead at 9-3 in the second set. The Yellowjackets were able to fight back and make it 14-12, still in the Panthers favor. A kill from Gigi Fields started the three point run that ended with a big block from Kennedy Dickens and Gigi Fields that brought Birmingham-Southern to 21-14. Randolph-Macon was able to grab one more point from the Panthers before they took the set 25-15. 
The third set started like the second with the same lead of 9-3 for the Panthers. The Yellowjackets fought back and made it a three point set at 13-10, but the Panthers were not done yet. Kills from Emily Buhl and Kennedy Dickens pushed it back to 16-1, and kills from Leah Nielsen and Alyssa Coats pushed them into 21-15. The Panthers took the final set 25-18 to sweep the Yellowjackets in the final day of the tournament.
