Admission to Monday’s home exhibition against Auburn Montgomery is free of charge. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Bartow Arena.

Start making your game day plans today, starting with these five things to know.

1: New Parking Options
The parking footprint for the upcoming UAB men’s basketball season is changing due to the recently announced reconstruction of the Cooper Green parking deck on 14th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenue.

Drop-off for valet parking will remain at the 14th Street entrance, while all other season parking lot entrances can be accessed from 13th Street. Please review the new parking map as some of the lot names and scholarship fund commitment levels have been adjusted.

All season parking remains within a one-block walk to the entrances of Bartow Arena.

If you have not done so already, make sure you take advantage of your opportunity to pre-purchase your parking pass to access the best parking locations.

2: Mobile Tickets for Access
All tickets for the UAB men’s basketball season will be delivered directly to your phone. Once you receive your tickets from the ticket office via email, please follow the steps add them to your mobile wallet.

If game times change, then the tip time associated with your mobile ticket will also be adjusted if the ticket is in your mobile wallet. Fans are encouraged to download tickets before heading to the arena on game day for the quickest access inside the building.

3. All Concessions are Card-Only
Concession stands inside Bartow Arena will be cashless. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase around the concourse but are all credit-card only operations.

4. Masks are Required
Masks are required indoors while on the UAB campus, regardless of vaccination status. This includes inside Bartow Arena.

Please be sure to have your mask on prior to entering Bartow Arena and leave it in place unless while eating or drinking.

5. Blazers Picked First in C-USA
UAB, who won a league-best 13 Conference USA games this past season, was predicted to win the C-USA regular season championship. The Blazers return seven players from this past season’s team that went 22-7 and posted a 7-0 record to open the season, which was the best start in UAB men’s basketball history.

Key returners include Second Team All-Conference USA honoree Tavin Lovan and Conference USA All-Defensive Team recipients Trey Jemison and Quan Jackson. Lovan was also recently named Preseason All-Conference USA after averaging 12.2 points per game this past season. UAB also returns leading scorer Michael Ertel, a Conference USA All-Tournament Team selection.

Newcomers include SEC transfers KJ Buffen (Ole Miss), Josh LeBlanc, Sr. (LSU) and Jamal Johnson (Auburn) along with Division I transfers Jordan Walker (Tulane), Tyreke Locure (South Alabama) and Justin Brown (South Florida). UAB also added former Odessa Junior College teammates AD Diedhiou and Elijah Tate to the 2021-22 roster.

UAB alumnus Andy Kennedy will enter his second year as the Blazers’ head coach. Kennedy sits just 12 wins away from 300 career victories as a Division I head coach.
