Cross Country Travels to Conference USA Championship

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB cross country heads to the Conference USA Championships on Saturday, Oct. 30 in Concord, N.C. at Frank Liske Park. The women’s 6k race is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. ET.
UAB is coming off an 11th place finish in its first 6k meet of the season at the home-hosted Blazer Classic. Junior Laura Thompson paced UAB with a 29th place finish with a time of 22:46.05.

At last year’s conference championship meet, Lauren Robinson led the Blazers with a 13th place finish with a time of 22:02.99 to earn All-Conference USA Second Team honors. As a team, UAB had its highest finish since 2017 with a fifth-place finish.
Joining the Blazers in the 13-team field include Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, FIU, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Rice, Southern Miss, UTEP, UTSA and WKU.
