UAH Tripped Up By Visiting AUM on Sunday

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women’s soccer team fell to visiting Auburn Montgomery by a 2-1 score on Sunday at Charger Park. UAH slips to 5-4-2 (3-3-1 Gulf South Conference) with the setback, while AUM improves to 5-6-0 (3-5-0 GSC).
The visitors outshot UAH by a 7-3 margin in the first half and took their first lead in the 33rd minute when Mayson Jaindl scored to put her team in front 1-0, and that score would hold through the halftime break.
Scoring her fifth goal of the season and leveling the contest at 1-1, Brynn Colvin got the Chargers on the board in the 55th with some fancy footwork in the box that helped her elude two defenders on her way to scoring, and the contest remained deadlocked until the 81st when McKenzie Nowin scored for AUM to put them in front by the eventual 2-1 final.
Colvin now has 25 career goals.
The Warhawks finished the contest with a 10-8 advantage in shots including a 4-3 edge in attempts on target, but UAH would hold a wide 7-3 margin in corners earned in the game.
Hailey Hicks recorded a pair of saves in goal for UAH.
The Chargers will now head back out on the road, taking a two-game swing through the Peach State next weekend starting with a Friday contest at West Georgia. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT.
