HUNTSVILLE, AL – The Falcons had a tall task in front of them on Saturday morning, competing in one of the largest fields ever at the UAH Charger Invitational. A crowded list of 33 teams and 340 runners took the course. The UM men would finish 18th in the 8K with 463 points.
“We had a solid day. We still have some work to do. Both teams got to see what a national caliber meet looks like and what we need to do. Happy with today’s results but we know we still have more we can give,” remarked head coach Tommy Barksdale.
Overall, Joe Leventry was the top finisher for the Falcons, crossing the line at 28th with a time of 24:38.55. Joseph Pitard was the next highest finisher for UM at 79th (25:30.71). Drew Roberts was 132nd (26:21.42), Chaney Holder 144th (26:32.23) and Owen Marquardt rounded out the top five finishers for the Falcons at 167th (26:46.64).
Next up: The Falcons will compete in the UAB Blazer Classic next Saturday (Oct. 16) in Birmingham.
