Chargers Take On Magnolia State Opponents At Charger Park

HUNTSVILLE | The Univeristy of Alabama in Huntsville men’s soccer team returns home this weekend, welcoming Mississippi College for a 5:30 p.m. kick-off on Friday before turning around to face Delta State at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Chargers go into the weekend at 2-2-1 (0-1-0 Gulf South Conference).

After taking a pair of setbacks, UAH responded in a big way with a 1-0 road win at West Alabama as Rafa Moreno scored in the 58th and Ethan Haworth made three saves to give the Chargers the victory in the non-conference contest.
The clean sheet also highlighted UAH’s defensive strength which is headlined by senior Ethan Wilson and sophomore Colby Nesbit who have both played 470 minutes for the Chargers, and it marked UAH’s second shutout of the season.
Mississippi College comes to Huntsville at 3-4-0 (2-2-0 GSC) on the year and is 1-3-0 away from its home pitch, and the team is led by Noah Wagner who has six goals and one assist for 13 points which ranks first in the conference.
Owners of a 3-4-1 (1-3-0 GSC) record are the Statesmen who are also 1-3-0 on the road, and the team has a balanced offensive attack with four players that have scored at least three times with Remi Emeriau’s four goals and four assists leading the team as he sits on 12 points on the year.
UAH and MC last squared off in 2019 when the Choctaws were 3-2 winners in overtime in the Magnolia State, and the Chargers are now 4-2-1 all-time against Friday’s guests including a 2-1-0 home record. Against Delta State the Chargers have won nine straight, are 9-1-0 all-time in Huntsville, and are 18-2-0 overall.
