UAH is unbeaten in four of its last five including in four straight before falling to Christian Brothers in overtime last Sunday.

The Chargers currently sit eighth in the GSC standings with seven points, but all but two of the teams ahead of UAH have played more games than the Chargers. Also, only six points – or two wins – separate first-place AUM from the Blue and White.

In the contest against CBU, Sander van der Sluijs scored his team-leading third goal of the season and his first since Sept. 10 at North Georgia. The senior has made the most of his attempts as five of his 11 shots have been on target and three of those five on goal have gone in.

Montevallo climbed into the national rankings this week, thanks to an 8-2-1 record on the season which includes a 4-2-0 mark in GSC play. UM’s scoring has been balanced this season with seven different players having at least two goals, and Edin Hernandez leads the Falcons with three goals and four assists for a team-best 10 points.

The Warhawks head into the weekend at 6-3-1 (4-1-1 GSC) and has received votes in the national poll earlier this month. AUM is stingy defensively, only allowing eight goals in its 10 games, and keeper Alexander Kraus features an impressive .868 save percentage and a 0.55 goals against average.

Montevallo holds a slim 15-14-2 lead in the all-time series with the Chargers, but UAH has won three straight against the Falcons and are 6-2-2 in the last 10 meetings including a 3-1 win back in Sept. 2011 when Montevallo was last nationally-ranked when the two teams squared off.

Against AUM, UAH is 8-5-1 all-time and was unbeaten in five straight before the Warhawks took a 2-1 meeting in last year’s GSC Spring Championship Series.
