Andrus, Hancock and McClain Named USTFCCCA All-Americans

NEW ORLEANS | The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its 2021 Outdoor All-Americans, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by Serenity Andrus, Zach Hancock and Wilson McClain as All-Americans.
A native of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, Andrus qualified to compete at the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in the 400 meter as she entered the event with a season-fastest and program-record time of 55.03.
She garnered 10th overall at Nationals in the 400 meter, posting a time of 55.89 to earn Second Team All-American in the event.
Hancock – a native of Madison, Alabama – garnered First Team All-American status at Nationals in the discus with a fourth-place hurl of 53.60 meters. He also garnered Second Team All-American in the shot put with a ninth-place finish at 17.55 meters.
He entered Nationals with program-record seeded marks of 18.56 meters in the shot put and 57.41 meters in the discus.
A redshirt freshman, McClain also qualified to compete at Nationals where he earned a berth to the final round in 110 meter hurdles with a top time of 13.94 in the preliminaries. This was his first career Second Team All-American honor in outdoor competition.
