Alabama A&M Women’s Basketball Picked Fourth In SWAC Preseason Poll

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Following an abbreviated 2020-21 campaign that saw them go 10-7 overall and 8-5 in league play, Alabama A&M women’s basketball has been picked to finish fourth in the 2021-22 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Preseason Poll as announced by the league on Wednesday, October 20.
 
The Bulldogs garnered 190 votes, including one first place, and trail regular season and tournament champion Jackson State, who amassed 255 votes with 19 of the 22 first place nods. In second is Alabama State (238, 1) with Southern (194, 1) holding down the third spot.
 
Grambling (147), Texas Southern (142), Alcorn State (118), newcomer Bethune-Cookman (101), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (98) and Prairie View (93) comprise Nos. 5-10. Fellow SWAC newcomer Florida A&M (91) and Mississippi Valley State (49) round out the poll at No. 11 and No. 12, respectively.
 
Alabama A&M will tip-off the 2021-22 season on November 9 and 10 with a pair of games in the State of Ohio. They will open at Dayton before taking on Cincinnati the following day.
