Baseball to Hold Dandy Don’s World Series

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Fall is officially here, and with it comes fall baseball. The West Alabama baseball team will begin its annual Dandy Don’s World Series on Thursday, Oct. 1, at Tartt Field.

The first pitch for the five-game intrasquad series is scheduled for 5 p.m. The other games stretch just over the next week.

With a tradition that started in 2019, players will serve as coaches for the DDWS. Pitcher Brenton Thiels will be the coach of the Red Team, and pitcher Javian Stone will be the coach of the White Team. Assistant Baseball Coach Dan Lyons and Pitching Coach Brock Ward will serve as Red Team and White Team managers, respectively.

Admission is free for the DDWS but if you cannot make it to the games, it will be streamed live on the UWA Athletics YouTube page.

Game 1 – Thursday, Oct. 1 – 5 p.m.
Game 2 – Sunday, Oct. 24 – 2 p.m.
Game 3 – Wednesday, Oct. 25 – 3 p.m.
Game 4 – Friday, Oct. 29 – 5 p.m.
Game 5 – Sunday, Oct. 31 – 2 p.m. (Halloween Costumes will be worn.)
