Alabama Softball Gets Two More Wins in Sunday Fall Ball Action

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball earned another pair of wins in Sunday fall ball action at Rhoads Stadium, defeating Memphis and West Alabama.

Alabama jumped on the board early against Memphis, scoring four in the first inning including a two-run home run from KJ Haney. Megan Bloodworth tacked on two more in the third with another two-run homer to make it 6-0. A solo home run from Lexi Kilfoyl and RBI single from Aubrey Barnhart in the fifth brought the score to 8-0, which proved final.

The Tide scored in the first inning of game two as well, moving up 2-0 on an RBI triple from Barnhart and an RBI single from Jenna Lord. Barnhart came through again in the fifth with an RBI single, with those three runs proving enough as Jaala Torrence allowed just one run in the complete game with 12 strikeouts.

Game One vs. Memphis Highlights

  • Lexi Kilfoyl was strong in the circle and at the plate, throwing 5.0 shutout innings with eight strikeouts and just baserunners while hitting an RBI double and solo home run
  • Alabama put up a four-spot in the first inning on an RBI double from Kilfoyl, a two-run home run from KJ Haney and a sac fly RBI from Ally Shipman
  • Megan Bloodworth went 2-for-2 with a triple and a two-run home run

Game Two vs. West Alabama Highlights

  • The first five batters for Alabama earned a hit in the bottom of the first, including an RBI triple from Aubrey Barnhart and RBI single from Jenna Lord
  • Dallis Goodnight went 3-for-3 with two runs scored
  • Jaala Torrence pitched the complete game with 12 strikeouts, 10 swinging
