BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of North Alabama women’s cross country team finished 12th in a 17-team field at the 2021 UAB Blazer Classic.
 
The Lions posted a 269 team total on the 6k course.
 
Vanderbilt won the event with a 42 team total. Vandy was followed by New Orleans (89), Samford (123), Clemson (130), Kennesaw State (137), Memphis (151), Belmont (169), Emory (209), Western Kentucky (222), Lipscomb (251), UAB (267), UNA, Georgia State (325), Jacksonville State (408), Oglethorpe (487), Calhoun (509) and UT-Southern (513).
 
Janeth Jepkirui led all UNA runners, finishing 30th individually with a time of 22:48.46.
 
UNA’s Laura Mobley was 59th (23:28.00), Beth Ann Tucker 60th (23:29.07), Gracie Mathews 62nd (23:30.92), Valerie Grosso 80th (23:52.09), Ashlyn Anderson 84th (24:06.77), Emma Kate White 85th (24:07.49), Emily Daniel 86th (24:08.13), Sharon Chepseba 87th (24:09.34), Mandaline Thomas 97th (24:38.70), Sage Betts 103rd (24:57.20), Lillian Humphries 105th (25:00.94) and Meghan McCarthy 129th (26:18.63).
