MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team lost 3-2 in a very physical and close game to Berry. Trey Hines put the Panthers on board first, but Berry was able to take the game in the last seconds of the game. 

The first half started off eventful with a yellow card being given to Berry in the 7th minute of play that prompted a penalty kick for Birmingham-Southern. Trey Hines was up to take the kick for the Panthers and was able to get it past the goalkeeper to put BSC up 1-0. Birmingham-Southern had four more shots in the first half that were not capitalized on, while also receiving a yellow card. The Vikings were able to put one in the goal in the 29th minute to tie it up. The first half saw no more goals and ended with the 1-1 tie. 
The second half saw some more physicality as well as more goals. Both teams had 7 shots in the half, BSC making one more goal while Berry outscored with two more. Only three minutes into the half, Berry was able to put their second goal into the net, officially taking the lead. In the 51st minute there was a foul on the Vikings, that gave the Panthers an opportunity to tie it back up. Coleman Jennings was able to set the ball up for Pirmin Blattmann to make the goal, making it 2-2 and a close game. Birmingham-Southern saw three more yellow cards of their own and one for Berry. The Vikings were able to sneak in one more goal with only 15 seconds left of the game to take the win 3-2.
