Troy Men’s Hoops Announces Complete 2021-22 Schedule

TROY, Ala. – Highlighted by six non conference home matchups and trips to Butler and Florida, the Troy men’s basketball team and head coach Scott Cross announced their 2021-22 schedule Tuesday.
“We are very relieved to finally have finished our schedule for the upcoming season,” head coach Scott Cross said. “I believe we have a great balance in this schedule with a good mix of home, road and neutral site games that will both challenge and prepare our team to win a Sun Belt Conference Championship.”
The Trojans open up the 2021-22 campaign on Nov. 9 against Carver before trekking to Indianapolis to square off against Butler on Nov. 13.
Troy returns home briefly for a midweek in-state showdown against Jacksonville State on Nov. 16. The Trojans then hit the road again to play in the FAU Classic MTE. While in Boca Raton, Fla., Troy will face North Dakota (Nov. 19), UT-Martin (Nov. 20) and FAU (Nov. 22).
Troy’s trip through the Sunshine State continues when the Trojans pay a visit to Florida on Nov. 28.
Finally, Troy will return home for a pair of matchups against Rust College (Dec. 1) and Southeastern Louisiana (Dec. 5) before traveling to Tennessee Tech on Dec. 11.
The Trojans are primed for another midweek in-state showdown on Dec. 14 with the likes of Alabama A&M making the trip to Trojan Arena. Then, Clinton College heads to Trojan Arena on Dec. 18 before Troy closes out the non conference schedule on the road against Mercer (Dec. 22).
The Trojans will kick off their conference campaign making a visit to the west division champions, Texas State, on Dec. 30.
Troy will then begin the New Year with a visit to UT Arlington before returning home for a pair of matchups with Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State (Jan. 6-8).
The homestand continues the following weekend (Jan. 13-15) when Georgia Southern and Georgia State enter Trojan Arena. Saturday’s matchup with Georgia State will be a doubleheader with the women’s squad.
After hitting the road for a pair against ULM and Louisiana (Jan. 20-22), the Trojans will travel down to rival South Alabama (Jan. 27). The Jags will make the return visit two days later, on Saturday, Jan. 29.
To open the month of February, Troy heads to the Peach State to square off against Georgia State and Georgia Southern (Feb. 3-5).
The Trojans will see west division foes Arkansas State and Little Rock on Feb. 10-12 inside Trojan Arena before trekking to Appalachian State and Coastal Carolina for the final road trip of the regular season (Feb. 17-19).
The regular season comes to a close with one last weekend in front of the Trojan faithful when UT Arlington and Texas State making the return trip to Trojan Arena on Feb. 24-26.
Following the conclusion of the regular season, all 12 Sun Belt teams will convene in Pensacola, Fla. for the Sun Belt Tournament March 3-7. Each game of the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Tournament will be played at the Pensacola Bay Center.
