Troy Cross Country Treks to Tallahassee

TROY, Ala. – After a three-week hiatus, the Troy men’s and women’s cross country will travel to Tallahassee, Florida to participate in the FSU XC Invitational Friday at Apalachee Regional Park.
The men’s 8K Open Race will kickstart at 8:10 a.m. followed by the women’s 6K Open Race at 8:45 a.m.
Last time out, Lauren Locke led the way with a 32nd-place finish in 18:35, a 5k personal best, while Tanner Guest crossed the finish line directly behind Locke with a time of 18:36 to finish 33rd overall.
Cadi Rowe rounded out Troy’s top-three finishers placing 39th in 18:41.
For the men, Blake Vaughn paced the Trojans for the third consecutive meet finishing 49th. Vaughn shaved 38 seconds off his 8k personal best with a time of 25:43.
James Brake and Mason Bennett rounded out Troy’s top-three finishes placing 71st and 80th respectively. Brake and Bennett’s times of 26:10 and 26:15 were also both personal bests.
The field features high-profile squads from all around the country, including: Arizona State, Kansas, UC-Berkeley and Georgia.
Men: Mason Bennett, James Brake, Sage Delfino, Ian Dougherty, Dylan Nelson and Blake Vaughn.
Women: Teanna Cason, Tanner Guest, Lauren Locke, Caroline Montini, Cadi Rowe, Caroline Sall and Summer Williams.
