Track and Field Trio Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Award

BIRMINGHAMBrittany Floyd, Lisa Petkov and Karri Green of the UAB track and field team have been named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Award, as announced by the organization.
 
Floyd recently placed second in the heptathlon at the Conference USA Outdoor Championship. She also claimed gold in pentathlon at the Conference Indoor Championships in February with a school record 37.
 
The Columbus, Ga. native also qualified for the NCAA East Prelims in the long jump. Floyd earned a 3.52 GPA in accounting and is a three-time member of the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
 
Petkov claimed two medals at the Conference USA Outdoor championships with a silver in the 4×400 meter relay and bronze in the 400-meter hurdles.
 
During the indoor season, Petkov finished third in the Conference USA Indoor Championships with a personal-best time of 55.71 in the 400-meters. In the 4×400-meter relay, Petkov anchored the team to a time of 3:47.74 to take the silver in the Conference USA Indoor Championship.
 
The Munich, Germany native qualified for the NCAA East Prelims in the 400-meter hurdles and placed 27th. The graduate student holds a 3.78 GPA and currently pursuing a master’s in business administration.
 
A multiple C-USA All-Conference honoree, Green had two podium finishes this season in the 4×400 relays. At the Conference USA Championships, the Piedmont, Ala. native placed fourth in the 400m during the indoor season and fifth during outdoor.

Green graduated with her master’s in business administration with a 3.41 GPA this past spring.
