Rhodes named SWAC Offensive Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State junior Jada Rhodes (Tallahassee, Fla.) was rewarded for her play in two games over the weekend by being named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

The outside hitter logged 31 kills in two matches including a career-high 21 kills in the Hornets’ win over Auburn, her fifth consecutive game with double-digit kills. The Tallahassee native also recorded 14 digs and three aces and 34.5 total points over the weekend.

Alabama State will return to the court this Sunday, as they host Mississippi Valley State in Lockhart Gymnasium with the first serve scheduled for 4 pm.
