Frazier Named SoCon Student-Athlete Of The Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford senior midfielder Alyssa Frazier was named the Southern Conference’s Student-Athlete of the Week when the league released its weekly academic award Wednesday afternoon.
Frazier scored one goal and added three assists in Samford’s two SoCon wins last week. She assisted on two goals in Friday night’s 3-1 win over Wofford. She then scored a goal and assisted on another in Sunday’s 4-0 victory over Furman.
For the season, Frazier is tied for the team lead in goals with five, and she leads the team in assists with seven for a team-high 17 points. Her assist totals rank 24th in the nation.
Academically, Frazier has a 4.0 GPA in nutrition at Samford. She is a three-time member of the SoCon Academic Honor Roll and a two-time member of the Academic All-SoCon squad.
The Samford soccer team will be on the road this weekend. The team will play at Western Carolina Friday at 6 p.m. (CT) and at ETSU Sunday at 1 p.m. (CT).
