AUBURN, Ala. – Coming off a pair of dominant wins against Wallace State-Hanceville and Andrew College last weekend, the Auburn softball team returns to Jane B. Moore Field to host an exhibition doubleheader on Sunday.
Beginning Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. CT, Auburn will face off against Gulf Coast State College before playing Snead State at 5 p.m. CT.
“Playing doubleheaders give everyone an opportunity to figure out where their bodies are physically and mentally and what more they need to work on as we head toward the spring,” said head coach Mickey Dean.
With nine true freshmen on the roster combined with the loss of four veteran starters, Dean and his staff will continue to mix up lineups, allowing multiple student-athletes to play various positions during Sunday’s doubleheader.
“We have a lot of players that are going to be asked to step up and take over those positions,” Dean added. “These fall games allow us to see multiple players at various positions and see how they handle in-game situations.”
Admission to all home fall games will be free to the public. The fall games will not be streamed, but fans can stay updated through the Auburn softball Twitter account: @AuburnSoftball.
