PANTHERS FALL TO NATIONALLY RANKED CENTRE

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s soccer team fought hard with No. 15 ranked Centre Colonels, but wound up on the wrong side losing 4-0 on Sunday, Oct. 10.

Centre gained the momentum early, taking 10 shots in the first 15 minutes of play. Ardis Haskell held strong in goal not allowing a ball to reach the back of the net. She could only hold off the Colonels attack for so long. In the 16th minute Centre found the back of the net to take an early 1-0 lead.

The Panther defense had their hands full all day with the Colonel attack. The defense did a great job making them work hard for their goals. Centre added on two more goals before the end of the first half to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.

The Panthers responded well in the second half limiting the Colonels to one goal. The Panther offense could not beat the Colonels keeper, BSC had great a couple good chances but could not convert.

The Panthers fell at home 4-0.
