Falcons Three Game Winning Streak Snapped With Loss to Spring Hill

MONTEVALLO – The Falcons had their three game winning streak snapped with a 3-1 loss to Spring Hill on Friday at Varsity Field. UM suffered its second loss of the season, falling to 7-2-1 and 3-2 in the Gulf South Conference. Spring Hill improved to 6-4 and 2-3.

The Falcons struggled generating offense in the game as they were out-shot by the Badgers 13-10. UM was held scoreless in the first half and trailed 1-0 at the break. Spring Hill added another goal in the 51st minute on a goal by Garlos Fernandes.

Less than two minutes later, the Falcons got on the board with a goal by Simon Wittman at 51:59. Martin Chladek and Edin Hernandez had the assist as UM cut the Spring Hill lead to 2-1. But, the Badgers added a goal in the 60th minute to put the game out of reach. Matthew Moreno scored the goal, his second of the game.

The Falcons seek redemption on Sunday afternoon when they take on West Florida at Varsity Field. The game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
