Bulldog Cross-Country Teams To Compete At Alexander/Asics Invitational

FAIRBURN, Ga. – The Samford men’s and women’s cross-country teams will compete in the Alexander/Asics Invitational Saturday morning at Alexander High School.
 
The men’s 8K race will start at 7 a.m. (CT), and the women’s 5K race is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. (CT). To follow along with the action, click here: LIVE RESULTS.
 
This marks the second meet for both teams. The Bulldogs opened the season at the UNA Showcase on Sept. 17.
 
In that season-opening meet, the women’s team was led by McKenzie Hogue, placing 15th out of 171 runners, with a time of 17:19.96. Sinkenesh Parker, in her first collegiate race, placed 23rd, running the course in 17:36.01. Allison Nelson came in 27th with a time of 17:44.62.
 
The men’s team had two runners finish in the top 20 out of 169 individuals. The squad was led by Benjamin Garner, finishing 15th, with a time of 24:55.35. Jeb Jones came in 19th, running the race in 25:00.77.
