TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Talladega College women’s basketball program came storming back to collect its seventh victory in-a-row in a nail-biting thriller over the Dillard Lady Bleu Devils, 77-73.

The (RV) Lady Tornadoes (12-2, 4-1 GCAC) had to overcome a 21-point deficit, the largest comeback in the GCAC this season, to survive an uncharacteristically turnover-prone contest to hold on for the crucial triumph.

Tyeisha Juhan showed why she was voted GCAC Preseason Player of the Year, leading all scorers with 28, grabbing 11 rebounds, nailing four three-pointers, dishing out three assists, and swiping two steals.

The all-around clutch performance gave Juhan her fourth double-double of the season and sixth of her Talladega tenure.

Jordan Dubose joined her standout teammate with 19 points and ten boards for a double-double as well, making 7-of-9 (.778) field goals.

Kameron Shelley was the third Dega girl to score ten-plus points, posting 12 with seven rebounds.

Monet Brown handed out a tied for game-best five assists while India Searls rejected two Dillard shots.

Dillard (2-5, 1-2 GCAC) overcame a long hiatus due to COVID-19 to put a scare in the home-standing Lady Tornadoes, forcing five more turnovers than it committed (22-17) and logging ten steals.

Sharan Turner fronted the Lady Bleu Devils’ offensive attack with 18 points off of seven field goals.

JaQuanna Hunter dominated on the glass all evening, pulling in 14 boards to lead all game participants.

Rayah Haynes and Diniaa McZeal each contributed 13 points while Haynes tied with Juhan for a game-high five assists.
