Volleyball Sweeps Tougaloo College In Jacksonville Bubble

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Talladega College volleyball program took a thrilling five-setter versus the Lady Bulldogs on Friday before making quick work of Tougaloo Saturday, winning in straight sets.

Talladega (2-11, 2-4 GCAC) had more kills in the first match (56) than the Lady Bulldogs had in both contests combined (47) while dropping an absurd 25 service aces on TC including 17 in game one alone.

Tougaloo (2-8, 2-6 GCAC) had two student-athletes cross the double-digit benchmark as Teriyana Tolbert logged 23 assists and Taikedra Joseph clubbed 12 kills, both in game one.

Game 1 vs. Tougaloo | W, 3-2 (22-25, 25-16, 25-19, 23-25, 15-11)

Game one saw Esheallah Bradley steal the show with a double-double of 29 assists and 15 digs plus four service aces.

Keundra Rembert tied for the game’s digs high with Bradley at 15 and also smacked four aces as well.

Reanna Burroughs (17) and Jennifer Brown (13) accounted for 30 of the squad’s 56 kills (53.6%).

Somer Underwood averaged a service ace per set, notching a tied for game-best five.

Game 2 vs. Tougaloo | W, 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-13)

Burroughs one-upper herself in the second match, hitting an absurd 0.563 with 20 kills and just two errors while scoring 21 points by herself plus falling one dig shy (7) of sharing the team lead.

Bradley (16) and Derriana Chambers (10) both cracked double-figures in the assist column.

Shanice Battle fronted the Lady Tornadoes in both aces (3) and blocks (2) to go along with two kills and a dig.

Talladega will play two extra games in Duval County Monday night and Tuesday afternoon opposite Edward Waters
