Emerson, GA-– Talladega Baseball earned a split with No. 15 Bryan College on Friday evening.  The Tornadoes won the first game 5-4 but fell in the second game 6-4.

Talladega built a 5-0 lead in the fifth but had to fight off rally attempts from the Bryan in the final innings. Bryan got within one after scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth. The Tornadoes closer David Padilla came in seventh and got three strikeouts to end the inning. 
Gustavo Castellano and Emmanuel Amparo hit an RBI’s single in the second to give Talladega 2-0 the lead,  The Tornadoes added three more runs in the fifth to take a 5-0 lead. but Bryan answered right back with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the lead 5-4.

Julian Fitts struck out seven hitters and scattered three hits across 5.1 innings for the victory. 


Bryan College 6 Talladega 4

Bryan College scored one run in the second, third and three runs in the fourth inning and led throughout as they won the second game by a score of 6-4. Talladega got two runs on the board in the fifth and two more in the seventh, but they left five runners on base for the game, including two at the conclusion of the game.

Hamlet Flores, Manuel Gonzalez and Waldemar Figueroa each had hit apiece. Jorge Rodriguez , Alexis Ventura and Manuel Gonzalez each had an RBI.

Talladega (4-9) will host a doubleheader against  No. 4 Faulkner University Tuesday, February 25 at noon.
