Talladega, AL – Talladega College’s Men’s Soccer Program welcomes Jakorius Watkins – a dynamic player homegrown in Anniston, AL. As the first local player to commit to the program, Watkins’ signing is symbolic for the team and its new initiatives.

As a student at Saks High School, Watkins achieved 35 goals and 10 assists, resulting in Saks’ 17-2-1 record and Watkins’ honor as Calhoun Soccer Tournament Boys Most Valuable Player – 2018. He later became Calhoun County Boys Soccer Player of the Year in 2019.

Upon graduation, Watkins attended Gadsden State Community College as a Business Administration major.

Additionally, Watkins played semi-professional soccer with the Alabama Heat FC.

Watkins has a strong history of harnessing his outstanding abilities and bolstering them with his dedication and love for the game, thus enhancing his performance on the field.

Talladega College Men’s Soccer Coach, Joseph Tibbs, attests to this by stating “Jakorius is a special signing as he is my first homegrown player to commit here. Jakorius is a talented attacking player who has the ability to break down defenses and create scoring opportunities. His competitiveness and drive will add to our culture of excellence.”

Coach Tibbs, and the rest of Talladega College Soccer staff and athletes, welcome Jakorius Watkins as a special addition to the team.
