Stillman Ends Season at SSAC Tournament

DECATUR, Ala. – Stillman College fell 4-2 to Brewton-Parker College in the first eliminiation game of the 2021 Southern States Athletic Conference Softball Tournament at Wilson Morgan Sports Complex on Friday, April 30. 


The Tigers out-scored Brewton-Parker College, 2-1 in the last six innings but it was not enough to erase a three-run, first-inning deficit. 


Brewton-Parker scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the first inning after Abby Cox reached on an error and scored, along with Mackenzie Tripp, on a two-run double by Morgan Parris. Chloe Strickland reached on an error to extend the inning before Parris scored on a RBI ground out by Josalin Whitten. 


Elisabeth Boso pitched the complete game for Stillman, allowing two earned runs, four total, off four hits and one walk through six innings. 


After being retired in order in the first three innings, Stillman stranded two runners in the top of the fourth. The Tigers’ scored their first run in the sixth. Tayla Stowes reached on a pinch-hit, infield single to start the inning. She later scored on a two-out error at second base. 



Candace Hampton, Reynolds, Presley and Stowes each had one hit for Stillman. Parris led BPC with two hits, while Sadie Rusteika and Whitten each had one. 


Stillman concludes its 2021 season with a 10-36 overall record.
