Talladega, AL. – The Talladega College softball team defeated Tennesse Wesleyan 4-0 and 7-5 on senior day Saturday afternoon.

The K Zone

  • Bryann Welch started in the circle for Northwestern as she went on to throw a complete game of 7.0 innings only allowing no runs earned on four hits, and struck out six. 

Game Changer

  • The biggest difference maker in this contest came from Coachman who roped a double down the right-field line to bring in two runs for Talladega, pushing the lead out to 3-0 at that point after the third inning.
  • Talladega recorded a solid day defensively as well recording zero errors in the contest compared to Tennessee Wesleyan’s one.

At The Dish

  • Taylor Espinoza provided more offensive success for the Rangers as she finished game two hitting 4-for-4 with three runs scored and, one stolen base.
  •  Isabella Duran had a solid performance as well in game two going 3-for-3 with one RBI.
  • Emerald Coachman, Chyloe Gonzalez combined for four hits, with three RBI’s and two runs scored. 

The K Zone

  • Chyloe Gonzalez started game two in the circle for Talladega and threw 6.2 total innings allowing six hits, five earned runs and recorded two strikeouts. 
  • Melanie Benge would come on in relief to pitch the final out of play as she faces two batters and allowed one hit against Tennessee Wesleyan to earn her first save of the season.

Game Changer

  • The Lady Tornadoes were able to move their runners around the bases in key moments during this match-up as the TWU were unable to put multiple runs on the board.
