Softball Splits With No. 5 Brenau University.

Recap

Talladega, AL-Talladega College Softball notched their first big win of the season Friday afternoon in their first match-up of the day No.5 Brenau University by a score of 3-2.  But was not able to complete the sweep in the final match-up against Brenau afternoon as they were defeated in the final game of the series by the Tigers on the road 2-0.

  • Bryann Welch started in the circle for the Tornadoes as she too went the distance in the first game of the day, throwing 7.0 innings, only gave up two earned runs, and two strikeouts for Talladega. 

 

Game Changer

  • Lane scored the game-winning run in the seventh inning.
  • The Tornadoes outhit Brenau 7-6, as they controlled the pace of this game with their offensive success.

  • Melanie Benge started off in the circle for the Tornadoes as she threw 7.0 innings giving up two earned runs on three hits and struck out five batters. 

 

Game Changer

  • Breanu scored one run in the sixth and seventh inning.  Including a home run in the seventh inning.

On Deck

  • Talladega College Softball will face Tuskegee in a doubleheader on Saturday, February 24, with the game to starting at 1 p.m.
