Panthers finish fifth in national rankings

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern softball was voted No. 5 in the country by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association after the organizations final poll of the 2021 season. 
 
BSC finished its historic season 33-8 overall and one game away from the national championship series.  At 168 points, the Panthers are the only Southern Athletic Association team in the top 10.  After successfully defending both regular season and SAA tournament titles, BSC went undefeated in the Marshall Regional to advance to the women’s college world series for the first time in program history.
