TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Five Alabama softball players were selected to the 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District softball team, including Elissa Brown, Montana Fouts, Bailey Hemphill, Alexis Mack and Kaylee Tow.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District distinction is the fourth-straight for Hemphill, third-straight for Tow and first for Brown, Fouts and Mack. The five honorees are the Crimson Tide’s most since 2012. The slate increases Alabama softball’s all-time total to 56 accolades, including multiple honorees in each of the last six seasons.
With their selection, the five advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America voting, with Division 1 winners to be announced Thursday, July 29.
The five softball players bumped Alabama’s 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District IV honorees to 10 so far this year, joining Mac Jones and Landon Dickerson (football), Madelyn St. Germain (volleyball), Jordan Lewis (women’s basketball) and Chase Lee (baseball).
