JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team bounced back and took 3 sets from LeTourneau. Alyssa Coats once again led the team with 14 kills and had an impressive .344 hitting percentage.
Match one: The Panthers started off behind in the first set, but quickly changed the pace by going on an 8-point run to take the lead 14-9. Three kills from Alyssa Coats pushed the Panthers into good position to finish the set, leading 20-12. A service ace from Ally Mildenberger finished off the first set for the Panthers, beating the Yellowjackets 25-16.
The Panthers took the wire-to-wire in the second set. Kennedy Dickens and Alyssa Coats both recorded 4 kills in this set. Dickens finished the set off with a kill, ending it 25-20.
The third set started off as a back-and-forth battle between the Panthers and Yellowjackets. The Yellowjackets took the lead at 13-9, but the Panthers fought back on a 6-point run to get up 15-13. Keeping the lead, the Panthers took the final set 25-20.

Match two: The Panthers kept the momentum going in their second match of the day against Huntingdon. A team total of 9 aces contributed to the sweep. Kennedy Dickens, Taylor Bentley, and Alyssa Coats all had great games with .529, .429, and .556 hitting percentages respectively.
Starting off the first set tied 1-1, the Panthers kicked it into gear taking the next 8 points to make it 9-1. The momentum did not stop there, going on multiple 3 point runs in the set, and ultimately the Panthers won the set 25-10.
The second set was not as easy as the first. The Panthers persevered in the fight against the Hawks, battling all the way until point 20. Three errors in a row from the Hawks gave the Panthers set point, eventually ending 25-21.
The third set proved to be just as much of a fight as the second set. The Panthers went back and forth with the Hawks swapping leads. The Hawks were up 19-16 before the Panthers went on a 6-point run to help them take the set 25-21, ending in another Panther victory.
