PANTHERS SOAR PAST EAGLES

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team had a change in schedule, but that had no effect on the Panthers. BSC scored four goals for the second straight game defeating Faulkner University by a score of 4-1.

Junior, forward Coleman Jennings got the scoring started early with a goal in the 10th minute. Bryan Arteaga sent a cross to the middle of the box that found the head of Jennings, who beat the keeper to the high, left-side of the net. With momentum solely on their side the Panthers were able to put pressure on the Eagles.

In the 30th minute Christian Hernandez netted his first goal of the season with a rocket from the right side of the box. Coleman Jennings gathered an assist on the play after a nifty flick on to get the ball to Hernandez. It was all Panthers as the two teams went to halftime.

The Panther offense came out firing on all cylinders in the second half. Senior, Christian Hernandez recorded his second goal of the games just two minutes into the second half. The Hernandez goal gave the Panthers a commanding 3-0 lead. Seven minutes following Christian’s goal Trey Hines netted his first goal of the season, with the assist going to Elijah Mitchell

Faulkner got on the board in the 71st minute as Guilherme Mondaini netted a goal after he was fouled just outside the penalty box. The Panthers won in dominating fashion again by a score of 4-1
